EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES

For the past eighteen years I have been working as a Sound Engineer and Performer in Florida and Atlanta. Experienced in live sound and studio recording, with an emphasis on professionalism and versatility. I am a graduate of Full Sail's Recording Engineering Program, where I gained a good grounding in studio procedures and mixing techniques. As a working musician experienced in a wide range of musical styles, I perform on an eclectic group of instruments including didjeridu, trombone, bass, Theremin, keyboard and percussion. Performed and co-produced on children’s albums “The Wide Mouth Frog” and “Birds on the Run” for Noel International Productions. Currently performing in the Atlanta area with Scattered Thieves and Heinous Bienfäng.

Duties included:

Performance of voiceover announcements, recording and editing of voice files used in Automated Voice Recognition and Promotions on Hold phone messaging systems. Selection and programming of background music for voiceovers and phone system applications, using Sound Forge ACID pro and pre-existing commercial music libraries.

MUSIC AND ARTS CENTER - Atlanta, Georgia

Sales Associate - March. 1998 to present

Duties included:

Sales and rentals of musical instruments and accessories for one of the nation's largest music retailers. Activities include sales of a wide range of instruments, sheet music and music lessons in a customer-service oriented atmosphere, drawing extensively on my knowledge of band & orchestra instruments, guitars and keyboards, drum sets and accessories. Additional duties include daily opening and closing duties, bank deposits, scheduling & coordination of music lessons, special orders of sheet music and accessories, and handling large quantities of phone calls while assisting in-store customers.

Duties included:

Daily shipping & receiving and phone sales in a small warehouse for the southeast distributor for Crown, Atlas, Telex, Bose and other products in the pro audio and video field.

 TOTAL AUDIO VISUAL SERVICES - Atlanta, Georgia

Audio Department QC Tech - Aug. 1995 to Oct.1996;

Audio Tech - May 1994 to Aug. 1995, Dec. 1997 to March 1998

QC Duties included:

Quality control testing and evaluation on a wide range of audio and audio/visual equipment, filling orders for audio systems ranging from four-channel mixers to forty-channel concert systems, spec shows & advise sales staff, training new employees, product evaluation for purchasing purposes, equipment maintenance & repair. Partial gear list includes Yamaha PM 4000 & EMX series powered consoles, Samson & Shure UHF wireless systems, EAW KF-850 , Meyer & JBL speaker systems, General A.V. equipment including slide projectors, video & data projection systems, Fastfold screens, etc.

Audio Tech Duties included:

Providing sound reinforcement and general A.V. services for a wide range of corporate clients including COMDEX computer show, Newt Gingrich, and Hillary Clinton.

 RECORDING ENGINEER - Atlanta, Georgia

Digital Edge Recording Studio - Feb. 1994 to Aug. 1995

Duties included:

Engineering at 24/32-track digital recording studio. Extensive experience with ADAT/BRC format & a wide range of outboard gear. Tracking of vocals, live instruments and MIDI rigs. Mixdowns of rap, rock & acoustic music.

Projects included: 

Albums by MC Shy-D, Kilo, MC Breed and others. Remixes for Deadeye Dick and others.

 

LIVE SOUND ENGINEER - Central Florida Area

Sound Reinforcement / Live Sound Recording - 1988 to 1994

Duties Included:

Worked with a variety of bands in Florida's club & concert circuit. First Audio for Richard Tater engineering; lead engineer for several of the area's Top 40 bands. Spent the summer of 1988 at THE WINE GALLERY, a club that featured Original and Alternative Music by local and national acts. Clients included: DRIVIN' N' CRYIN', THE ACCELERATORS, and many others. Styles included: Solo acoustic guitar, Hardcore, Jazz, Rock n' Roll, Reggae and Blues. Mains and monitor mixes for Arlo Guthrie's INDIAN RIVER FESTIVAL and others. Recorded demos for BRAVO HOTEL, BRAVE NEW TRIBE and SCREAMING IGUANAS OF LOVE. Also performed and assisted in recording album for TIN CAN JETS.

 

MUSICAL EQUIPMENT RETAIL SALES / CUSTOMER SERVICE

Atlanta Discount Music - Atlanta, Ga. - May to Aug. 1995

Smith Brothers Music- Merritt Island & Melbourne, Florida - Aug. 1989 to Feb. 1990

Duties Included:

Shipping/Receiving desk & warehouse staff at Atlanta Discount Music. Customer Service at two locations for Smith Brothers Music in Florida. Demos of equipment ranging from guitars and amps to sequencers and digital effects units. Solely responsible for the smooth running of the Melbourne location. Responsible for cashing out and tallying daily sales receipts.

 

U.S. AIR FORCE BAND

Trombonist - Aug. 1980 to Aug. 1984

Duties included:

Spent four years performing in USAF Bands; stationed in New Hampshire & Germany. Trombonist in a variety of groups -- from Concert Band to Jazz Band and Brass Ensemble. Provided Sound Reinforcement for a 16-piece Dance Band while touring throughout Europe. Did volunteer work for Armed Forces FAR EAST NETWORK in the Philippines, assisting ENG crews on news shoots in & around Clark Air Base.

 

UP WITH PEOPLE

Cast Member & Musician in a National / International touring ensemble - 1978-1979

Duties included:

Spent a year as a cast member touring throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Performed as Trombonist and vocalist in an International variety show. Worked on stage crew doing nightly strike of full P.A. and Lighting rig.
